BABY BLANKET!

I made 42 granny squares in the last few months to make a lovely baby blanket. It was a lot of work, but I'm so enormous thrilled with the end result, it was definitely the hard work worth it!

Down here the progress:


First I made 42 granny squares

Than I sew them all together by hand

An finally I added some waffle cotton at the back of the blanket

Seahorse Rattle

Who doesn't love a book about crochet? I have lot's of crochet books, and once in a while I can't resist a flick through some of them. I especially love to flick through them when I'm out of inspiration. Or if I know what kind of thing I want to make, but can't find a great free pattern on the internet. Also this time... For months it was on my whish list to make a seahorse, but couldn't find a great pattern (most of the time I'm too lazy to make one myself). By then it was one of those nights I flicked through some of my crochet books and found this lovely pattern! I decided to make this one for a little newborn girl. I think it turned out very cute, doesn't it?

I used Phildar Coton 3 and crochet needle 2.5mm
To turn this lovely stuffed toy into a rattle, I put a rattle bead in the head

Nicu Nadia

I follow a Facebook page called 'Earlybirdjes' (it's Dutch) it's a community where people come together to crochet for incubator babies. A very good initiative. So to support it, I made a Nicu this weekend. You may give every creation you make a name. I named it 'Nadia', which means hopeful. Which fit the purpose of this little creation.
This idea is originally based on a initiative from Sweden and Danish people. They made cute cuttlefishes for incubator babies.

Sinds een tijdje volg ik de Facebook pagina 'Earlybirdjes', dit is een community van mensen die haken voor couveusekindjes. Een goed initiatief, vind ik. Om dit goede initiatief te steunen haakte ik dit weekend een Nicu. Elke creatie die je maak geef je een naam. Ik noemde haar 'Nadia', wat hoopvol betekend. Deze naam vond ik wel passend voor de situatie.

Speenkoord | Pacifier cord

Er is een ware babyboom gaande in mijn omgeving. Een perfecte aangelegenheid om weer eens iets te haken. Pinterest biedt een uitstekende plek om inspiratie op te doen voor een leuk cadeautje. Via Pinterest stuitte ik op een ontwerp van Art Evy. Helaas is deze site niet meer te benaderen. Echter, een ingewikkeld patroon is het niet. Dus speenclip en houten kralen besteld en in no time had ik een speenkoord gemaakt. Zo eenvoudig, maar het resultaat is geweldig!

There is a real baby boom going on. Some are pregnant, others have already given birth. The perfect opportunity to crochet something. Pinterest offers a perfect place to get inspired. Via Pinterest I found a lovely pacifier cord, designed by Art Evy. Unfortunately this site is not longer available. However, it isn't a complicated pattern. So I ordered some pacifier clips and wooden beads. In no time I made this lovely pacifier cord. So simple, but the result is stunning!

Baby schoentjes/ baby shoes

Vanochtend kraambezoek bezoek geweest en kon ik mijn zelf gemaakte schoentjes geven! Hierbij een foto van deze leuk schoentjes :).

Lovely baby shoes, I hope they will fit the new born within a few weeks :).
