Tote bag with heart

My new favorite bag!

A few weeks ago, my grandmother gave me some cotton. She found it somewhere at the ceiling. It was about 30 years old, it has some spots in it... but it's white, so that's not a problem. After you made your work, put it in some water with some chlorine, and it will be perfect white again.
The moment I saw the cotton, I knew what I was going to make. A TOTE BAG!
I used the filet crochet technique. Perfect to make figures within your crochet work. I decided to make a lovely heart, it's clear to see when you use it.
Furthermore I bought some leather handles, with gives the bag a tougher appearance.

Do you want to filet crochet something as well, check out this site for some explanation (in English and Dutch).

Have a nice weekend!

Lovely Flamingos

I often crochet bunnies, because they look so cute. Another animal I really like, because of its color and shape, is a flamingo! I especially do like the different shades of pink and orange.
In one of my crochet books (Amigurumi & mini's) I found a pattern of these cuties. I could use it as key chain or something, but for the time being, they are decorating my living room.

Kind regards,

Pattern: Finger puppet bunny

I really like bunnies, they are so soft and cute. Full of innocence. I saw some finger puppets at Pinterest and became inspired. I thought let's make a finger puppet bunny. Love the result, and love to share it with you. If you made a finger puppet based on my pattern, share a picture on Facebook with me! I'm really looking forward to your versions of this lovely one.

Tilda

Finally I can show off my Tilda. Actually I made two of her. This one is the birthday present for my mother in law. She is one of my biggest fans and often supports me with lovely fabrics, buttons, beads, and edges. So she really deserved this one. She really likes the sewn version of Tilda, so that's why I decided to make a special crocheted version of Tilda.

Tilda is made of Phidal cotton 3 and about 45 cm tall. The dress is (of course) made of Tilda fabric. The hair of Tilda is often more decently, however I preferred the cute doll with a messy tail. That's more JoyJonne. Do you want to make a Tilda as well? You can find the pattern here.

Have a nice day!

Fat lady in bikini

With this blog title I will receive a lot of new viewers I think ;)

Anyways... It was for ages on my list to crochet a fat lady, but I didn't find the right moment yet. A few weeks ago (somewhere in November) I thought about the busy December month and all the birthdays. And than suddenly I though "Let's make a fat lady and it will be a great birthday gift!" So I started crocheting and it took me a few evenings to crochet all the parts and half a day to sew everything together. Now I'm so happy to show my fat lady, I actually couldn't wait, but had to wait for the birthday. It was such a pleasure to crochet it. I especially like the hair, it's so lovely messy :).

The pattern is in Dutch from the book 'Dikke dames haken'

Have a nice weekend!

Tablet cover

Recently I made this lovely tablet cover for my sister. Now she can carry her tablet safely from home to university and back.
I used to different cotton yarn types to make this cover. I started with some yellow yarn and crochet needle 2.5 mm. Then used some thicker multi color yarn and crochet needle 4 mm. The first row when I changed from yarn I made one sc and skipped the next sts and continued this to the end.

Lalylala deer

O dear, I finally finished my mini Lalylala deer! Isn't she cute?

Do you recognize it that you start a project, crochet all the separated parts and then stop and wait until it sews itself together? For me, it's like that most of the time with bigger projects. Again it took me too much time to finish this lovely one. I made all the parts already months ago. Then last Saturday I finally grabbed myself together and finished it. And now it's finished, I love it!
She is now glittering and shining in my living room :)

Sheep rattle

You know that feeling, you've found the perfect book for a new born and you want to crochet something that fits with the theme of the book? On the internet I found a great example of a sheep rattle, but no pattern. So I had to make one myself! No problem, but it takes some more time to make one.

There is actually a funny story behind the present. I started to search for a book, even before the baby was born. I found this book 'Joep' which is about a cute stuttering sheep and is illustrated by my cousin (link to website). The next day we found out that the newborn was born and called 'Joep'. What a coincidence!

 Have a nice day!

Many people already made this duck, it's a real famous pattern in crochet world, but here a link to the pattern again!

Have a lovely weekend!

Spin juggling balls

You know these specific crocheted juggling balls with split peas in it? I made them myself :). Now I can start practising juggling! I filled the balls with split peas instead of fiber fill. Fiber fill is too soft and light, split peas filling is perfect for adhesion and weight. To create the spin balls I used this pattern for the 'spin' instructions and adjust is a bit to create more juggling kind of balls. I wrote down the total amount of stitches so you can make them yourself!

R0: Chain 2, join the stitches with a slip stitch. This is the foundation of the ring.
R1: 6 sc into the second chain of the hook (6 stitches)
R2: 2 sc in each of the 6 sts of the previous round (12 stitches)
R3: *1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next st* Rep 6 times (18 stitches)
R4: *1 sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st* Rep 6 times (24 stitches)
R5: *1 sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st* Rep 6 times (30 stitches)
R6: *1 sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st* Rep 6 times (36 stitches)
R7: *1 sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st* Rep 6 times (42 stitches)
R8: *1 sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next st* Rep 6 times (48 stitches)
R9: *1 sc in next 7 sts, 2 sc in next st* Rep 6 times (54 stitches)
R10: *1 sc in next 8 sts, 2 sc in next st* Rep 6 times (60 stitches)
R11 - R19: 1 sc in each stitch around (60 stitches)
R20: *1 sc in next 8 sts, 2tog* Rep 6 times (54 stitches)
R21: *1 sc in next 7 sts, 2tog* Rep 6 times (48 stitches)
R22: *1 sc in next 6 sts, 2tog* Rep 6 times (42 stitches)
R23: *1 sc in next 5 sts, 2tog* Rep 6 times (39 stitches)
R24: *1 sc in next 4 sts, 2tog* Rep 6 times (30 stitches)
R25: *1 sc in next 3 sts, 2tog* Rep 6 times (24 stitches)
R26: *1 sc in next 2 sts, 2tog* Rep 6 times (18 stitches)
Fill the ball with about 100 grams of split peas
R27: *1 sc in next st, 2tog* Rep 6 times (12 stitches)
R28: *2tog* Rep 6 times (6 stitches)
Finishing off

Good luck with crocheting and juggling!
