Pimp your earphone cord

Last week I ordered some new cotton yarn and received an additional gift from the webshop. A pack of loom elastics. I could resist this hype so far, so I had no specific loom materials. I found my spool knitting doll, which I have since I was a kid.
I love to pimp things, I pimped my earphone before with colourful Hama beads. Now it was time for something new. So I made the following earphone cord, and because I am so thrilled with the result, I made this tutorial so you can pimp your boring earphone too!!

Owl phone case

 A few year ago I made a self-designed phone case. A great success, I can say. Several of these owl phone cases are sold in multiple colours.
 An enthusiastic purchaser, from a few years ago, approached me again to order kind of a similar case. What a great honor!
 After we discussed the colours, I had a lot of fun to make this classic owl phone case again. I was for sure a few years ago that I made the last owl phone case. I wish the purchaser as much as fun as with the previous!

Een aantal jaar geleden maakte ik een zelf ontworpen telefoonhoesje. Een groot succes, al zeg ik het zelf, meerdere hiervan zijn in diverse kleuren verkocht.
Een enthousiaste koopster van een aantal jaar gelden was haar hoesje kwijt geraakt en benaderde mij opnieuw om een soort gelijk hoesje te bestellen. Wat een eer!
Nadat we kleuren hadden afgestemd, heb ik met heel veel plezier deze klassieker die al een aantal jaar mee gaat, weer eens gehaakt. Ik heb er enorm veel plezier aan beleeft deze weer eens te haken. De koopster wens ik net zo veel plezier met dit hoesje toe als met de vorige!

Bee

Already a few months ago I bought two little books with crochet patterns of Woolytoons. I was really in the mood for some amigurumi, and one of the lovely patterns in this book was a bee. So I decided to make this one. I was really happy with the result! However to top it all, my nephew came over and said directly: "Hey look, that's Maya the bee!!" I consider that as a huge compliment!

Alweer een paar maanden geleden kocht ik twee kleine boekjes vol met patronen van Woolytoons. Ik had echt zin om een knuffeltje te maken, dus ik pakte het boekje erbij en koos het patroon van dit schattige bijtje. Ik was erg blij met het resultaat. Maar de kers op de taart was toch wel dat mijn neefje langs kwam en direct zei " Hee kijk, Maya de bij!!" Ik beschouw het als een groot compliment, dat dit haak projectje helemaal afmaakt.

Lovely little owls, part 2

Hello!
Last blog I showed my lovely little olw and I asked you to think with me what I could do with these owl. I got many great ideas via twitter etc. Lot's of people recommend me to make a key chain of it. So I did!

Hallo!
In mijn laatste blogpost liet mijn schattig uiltjes zien en vroeg jullie wat ik met hun zou doen. Ik kreeg veel reacties, voornamelijk via Twitter. Veel van jullie raadde mij aan sleutelhangers er van te maken. Dus dat heb ik gedaan!

 
Another great idea came from 'Creative Jewish Mom'. She suggest me to hang them on a twig... That was such a great idea, so I found a nice twig and I made some extra owls and hang them together!

Een ander goed idee kwam van  'Creative Jewish Mom'. Zij kwam op het idee om de uiltjes aan een tak te hangen. Dat vond ik zo'n goed idee dat ik in het bos opzoek ben gegaan naar een geschikte tak, maakte wat extra uiltjes en hing ze samen voor het raam!

Lovely little owls

Dear followers,

I'm still here. It was a bit quite the last months at my blog, but not in my live! I bet you were wonder what I'm was doing. Well... I had some vacation, I tried to find more inspiration of new crochet things.

I went to Stockholm, where I visit all kind of design stores and found some crocheted things.
Furthermore, I did some sewing, because when you travel you want to travel in style! So I made a lovely passport cover from a 30 year old Oilily fabric.

I had not much time to crochet myself, however during the vacations and working stuff I found some time to crochet. I made among other things, these lovely little owls. Now I wonder what I'm going to do with them... good ideas? Share them!

Happy spring!

It's spring! My favourite season of the year. It's time for lambs in the meadow, flowers in the most beautiful colours, little chicks and ducks hatch. I love it. The sun is shining... so time for a small crochet project in the sun. On a sunny day I love to sit in the backyard and crochet. I've found such a cute pattern of a little duck, which I think is a perfect little project for a lovely sunny afternoon. Isn't it cute?
You can find the pattern from Woolytoons here. Unfortunately, the pattern is only in Dutch, but with a translation guide it will be ok, I guess.

Het is lente! Mijn favoriete seizoen van het jaar. Het is tijd voor lammetjes in de wei, bloemen in de mooiste kleuren, kleine kuikens en eendjes die uit het ei komen. Geweldig. De zon schijnt al weer volop, dus tijd voor een haakwerkje in het zonnetje. Ik vind het namelijk heerlijk om in de achtertuin in het zonnetje te zitten met een haakwerkje. Ik vond zo'n schattig patroon van een eendje, wat ik een perfect projectje vind voor op een heerlijk zonnige middag. Is het niet schattig?

Nicu Nadia

I follow a Facebook page called 'Earlybirdjes' (it's Dutch) it's a community where people come together to crochet for incubator babies. A very good initiative. So to support it, I made a Nicu this weekend. You may give every creation you make a name. I named it 'Nadia', which means hopeful. Which fit the purpose of this little creation.
This idea is originally based on a initiative from Sweden and Danish people. They made cute cuttlefishes for incubator babies.

Sinds een tijdje volg ik de Facebook pagina 'Earlybirdjes', dit is een community van mensen die haken voor couveusekindjes. Een goed initiatief, vind ik. Om dit goede initiatief te steunen haakte ik dit weekend een Nicu. Elke creatie die je maak geef je een naam. Ik noemde haar 'Nadia', wat hoopvol betekend. Deze naam vond ik wel passend voor de situatie.

Rabbit pillow

Last week I got a Whats-app message:
"Hi! Where did you buy that rabbit pillow I saw last week?"
"Haha, I didn't buy that one... I made it myself :)"
 What a huge compliment, that she thought I bought it. So I made a new rabbit pillow and bring it to her this week. I can't wait to show it!

Afgelopen week kreeg ik een Whats-app berichtje:
"Hee! Waar heb jij dat konijnen kussen gekocht die ik pas bij jou zag?"
"Haha, die heb ik niet gekocht... die heb ik zelf gemaakt :)"
Wat een geweldig compliment dat ze dacht dat ik het gekocht had. Afgelopen week maakte ik daarom nog een konijnen kussen. Ik kan niet wachten om het haar te laten zien!

Tablet Cover

It has been a while since the Tapestry crochet was a hot stitch. However I didn't find the right project to adjust this stitch. But than, last Christmas my boyfriend suddenly came home with a tablet. I wanted it already for ages. So I decided to make a really lovely cover for this tablet. It was the perfect project to adjust the Tapestry stitch. Now it's finished, I couldn't wait to share the result with you! It was a lovely project, I could recommend it to you!

Het is alweer een tijdje geleden dat de Tapestry steek helemaal in was. Helaas kon ik op dat moment niet het juiste project verzinnen om deze steek toe te passen. Maar afgelopen Kerst kwam mijn vriend opeens thuis met een tablet! Ik was helemaal blij, want dat stond al een hele tijd hoog op mijn verlanglijst. Dus ik besloot voor deze tablet een extra mooie hoes te maken. Het perfecte moment om de Tapestry steek toe te passen. Nu hij af is kon ik niet wachten het resultaat met jullie te delen! Het was zo leuk om deze hoes te maken en het resultaat is zo gaaf, dat ik het jullie absoluut kan aanraden om zoiets ook te maken!

Speenkoord | Pacifier cord

Er is een ware babyboom gaande in mijn omgeving. Een perfecte aangelegenheid om weer eens iets te haken. Pinterest biedt een uitstekende plek om inspiratie op te doen voor een leuk cadeautje. Via Pinterest stuitte ik op een ontwerp van Art Evy. Helaas is deze site niet meer te benaderen. Echter, een ingewikkeld patroon is het niet. Dus speenclip en houten kralen besteld en in no time had ik een speenkoord gemaakt. Zo eenvoudig, maar het resultaat is geweldig!

There is a real baby boom going on. Some are pregnant, others have already given birth. The perfect opportunity to crochet something. Pinterest offers a perfect place to get inspired. Via Pinterest I found a lovely pacifier cord, designed by Art Evy. Unfortunately this site is not longer available. However, it isn't a complicated pattern. So I ordered some pacifier clips and wooden beads. In no time I made this lovely pacifier cord. So simple, but the result is stunning!

Flower pattern

I use this pattern quite often to add a little happiness! It´s such a simple flower, but it always makes me happy. And with sharing this pattern, everybody can add a little colour and happiness into their lives. What would it be great if everybody make a lovely flower and give it to somebody special and with that, we make each other more happy!

I made the flower as follows:
Step 1: 5 single crochet into a magic ring.
Step 2: Into the first stitch add *slip stitch, chain 2, 3 double crochet, chain 2, slip stitch* repeat untill you have five petals.
Leave a long tail to attach the flower.

This pattern is written in US crochet terms:
Single crochet (US) = Double crochet (UK)
Double crochet (US) = Treble crochet (UK)

Bloemetjes patroon 

Ik gebruik het patroon heel vaak en graag om net iets een beetje op te leuken! Zelf wordt ik altijd helemaal blij van dit eenvoudige bloemetje. En met dit patroon kan iedereen een beetje kleur en vrolijkheid in zijn leven brengen... wat zou het toch mooi zijn als iedereen een bloemetje door geeft aan een dierbare en we met zijn alle elkaar een beetje opvrolijken!

Ik maakte het bloemetje door:
Stap 1: vijf vasten in een magic ring te maken,
Stap 2: vervolgens deed ik in elke vaste *een halve vaste, 2 losse, 3 stokjes, 2 losse en een halve vaste* dit herhaalde ik totdat ik 5 bloemblaadjes had.
Laat een lange draad over zodat je het bloemetje ergens aan kan bevestigen!

Lovely pink button ring

A few months ago a bought some craft stuff and lovely new yarn in great colours. One of the things I bought was an 'empty ring'. I always love the idea that you can make a ring exactly how you want. So with my 'empty ring' and my new colours I was thinking, what shall I make (I mostly first buy something and than I start looking for ideas). When I'm looking for inspiration, I open my cabinet with beads, buttons, fabrics, etc. There I found a button in almost the same colours as my pink yarn... and than the idea was born. Now you can see the result of my idea!

Een paar maanden geleden kocht ik allerlei handwerk dingetjes en een paar nieuwe bolletjes katoen in geweldige kleuren. Eén van de dingen die ik kocht was een ring, waar je zelf nog wat op kan maken. Zulke ringetjes heb ik altijd al leuk gevonden. Het idee dat je een ring kan maken precies zoals je zelf wilt, vind ik altijd geweldig. Dus met mijn nieuwe spulletjes vroeg ik me af, wat zal ik eens gaan maken (want dat verzin ik meestal pas wanneer ik het al gekocht heb). Dan open ik altijd mijn lade met frutsels, knoopjes, stofjes, kraaltjes, etc. Daar vond ik dan ook de bijpassende knoop in bijna dezelfde kleur roze, dat bracht me direct op een idee... en zie hier het resultaat van mijn idee!
